Yunfu is the quiet west of Guangdong: the hills of Xinxing county, where Hui Neng — the Sixth Patriarch of Zen — was born, and where the 1,300-year-old Guoen Temple still stands among the trees. Two hours beyond it, hot springs come out of the same hills.

We build Yunfu as a three or four night stay from Guangzhou or Hong Kong, usually paired with a hot-spring resort and one mountain day.

What Yunfu is good for

Zen heritage at Guoen Temple and Liuzu Hometown, the hot springs of Longshan, and the ridges of Tianlu Mountain. Spring and autumn are the best months; summer is hot but the water is welcome.
