How we use them

A private tour can drift into being a series of viewpoints. One hands-on experience in the middle of a trip changes the rhythm, particularly for families and for anyone who has been to the country before.

What we look for

Small groups, or just yours

A class of twenty is a different product from a class of four. We check the actual group size rather than the marketing line.

Language and pace

Whether the host works in English, and whether the session suits an older parent or a child, matters more than the photographs.

Time cost

Half a day is half a day. We place experiences where they do not compete with the strongest scenery of the trip.
