Choosing Your Zhejiang Tour Length

The five-day Zhejiang private tour suits travellers who want a compact look at the region without rushing between stops. Days are paced around a comfortable number of places, so there is time to walk rather than photograph and drive on. In Hangzhou, Maojiabu offers water-town lanes, ancient bridges, tea plantations and bamboo groves on the quieter west side of West Lake, while Hubin Intime 77 (in77) covers shopping and evening dining beside the lake. Further afield, Qiandao Lake's 1,078 islands reward a slower half-day of boating or cycling, and Jinyun Xiandu's misty peaks give the itinerary its wuxia scenery. Our six-, seven- and eight-day versions keep the same style but add more places and a more relaxed pace, which suits families, older travellers or anyone who prefers fewer transfers each day.

 Tourist Attractions

Maojiabu, nestled on the west side of Hangzhou's West Lake, is a hidden paradise away from the hustle and bustle. With its charming water town scenery, ancient bridges, tea plantations, and bamboo groves, it offers a perfect blend of nature and culture. Hubin Intime 77 (in77) is Hangzhou's trendiest commercial hub, located next to West Lake. It blends fashion, dining, and entertainment, featuring international brands and local designs. A must-visit for nightlife and shopping.  The West Lake Music Fountain in Hangzhou is a dazzling night attraction, where water jets dance to music amidst stunning light effects. Free to the public with two nightly shows, it’s a perfect blend of romance and technology. Qiandao Lake in Hangzhou, known as "Thousand Island Lake," boasts 1,078 emerald-green islands and crystal-clear waters. Perfect for boating, cycling, and savoring organic fish head dishes, it’s a year-round paradise. Jinyun Xiandu, the birthplace of Chinese immortal culture, features towering peaks and misty landscapes straight out of a fantasy. A filming location for dramas like "The Journey of Flower," it’s a real-life wuxia paradise. The Shenxianju Loop in Zhejiang is a breathtaking hiking trail, featuring surreal peaks, sea of clouds, and suspended walkways. Each step reveals nature’s masterpiece, with waterfalls and cliffs creating a fairy-tale landscape. Wuzhen Xizha is the epitome of a Jiangnan water town, with ancient bridges, Ming-Qing architecture, and poetic nightscapes. Glide on a rowing boat to soak in the timeless charm and artistic vibe of this millennia-old town.  Lu Xun’s Hometown is the birthplace of the literary giant, featuring well-preserved late Qing and early Republic-era architecture. Stroll the cobblestone streets to immerse in the history and culture behind "A Madman’s Diary."

Zhejiang Tour Length: Common Questions

Why choose five days rather than a shorter tour?

Five days is the shortest version that lets you cover Hangzhou properly and still reach places outside the city. A shorter trip would leave you choosing between Maojiabu and West Lake, or dropping Qiandao Lake altogether. Five days keeps the driving manageable while giving each stop at least half a day.

Who is the five-day tour suited to?

It suits travellers with a fixed week, first-time visitors to Zhejiang, and anyone who prefers a clear structure. Couples and small groups who cannot take a long absence from work tend to pick it. If you travel with young children or grandparents, our longer versions spread the same ground more gently.

Why not take the seven- or eight-day version instead?

The longer versions add more places — Jinyun Xiandu and the Shenxianju Loop sit more comfortably in a seven- or eight-day outline — and they slow the pace between stops. Choose five days if time is tight; choose longer if you want fewer early starts and more evenings around West Lake Music Fountain.
