Choosing Your West Kyushu Tour Length
The five-day West Kyushu private tour suits travellers who want a focused look at the region with time to move at a private pace. You can visit the Nanatsugama Caves, the Yobuko Morning Market and Hirado Castle, with enough space to appreciate coastal scenery and local culture without rushing. Compared with the six-, seven- and eight-day versions, this five-day itinerary covers fewer places; the longer versions add more places and a more relaxed pace. It works well for first-time visitors, couples or families who prefer a compact schedule, and for travellers who want a private tour that leaves room for independent time. If you have more days, the longer versions allow a broader West Kyushu route; if your time is limited, this version keeps the planning simple.

The Nanatsugama Caves are designated as a National Natural Monument. These picturesque caves were formed due to erosion from stormy waves of the Genkai Sea hitting the cliffs. The cliffs were deeply worn away. Nanatsugama literally means seven cauldrons, and just as the name suggests, seven caves line the cliffs. You will be struck with awe by the glory of nature.
The Yobuko Morning Market - One of Japan's Three Major Morning Markets
Hirado Castle - The view from the keep is truly a spectacular sight. This castle is considered the symbol of Hirado.
The Kujukushima Islands, located 25 kilometers north of Sasebo Port, consist of 208 large and small islands stretching to the Hirado Strait. The density of islands here is said to be the highest in Japan. In April 2018, the Kujukushima Islands were certified as a member of the "Most Beautiful Bays in the World" international NGO.
Chiwata Station - The station has a nostalgic and retro feel. It was constructed and opened for service in 1928. It later became an unmanned station owned by the town of Higashisonogi in 1971, and was then renovated in 1993 to restore its original appearance.

Glover Garden also boasts a great location overlooking Nagasaki Port with Mt. Inasa, a landmark of Nagasaki City, in the background. Isn't it no wonder that the great people who lived just after the port opened were fascinated by this spectacular view?
Initially built to isolate the Portuguese and prevent the propagation of Christianity, the fan-shaped island of Dejima was later home to the Dutch Trading Post and a hub for European trade. As you explore the streets and buildings, you will feel as though you are exploring history itself.
The Meganebashi Bridge is said to be one of the oldest stone arch bridges in Japan. It spans the Nakashima River in Nagasaki and is considered one of the most photogenic tourist attractions in the area. The arch of the bridge is reflected in the water, creating an image that resembles a pair of eyeglasses, hence the name "Megane Bridge" which means "Eyeglasses Bridge" in English.
The night view from Mount Inasa is an excellent vantage point to appreciate Nagasaki, which was selected as one of the "New Three Great Night Scenes of the World" in 2012, alongside Hong Kong and Monaco. In 2018, Nagasaki's night view was further designated as one of the "New Three Great Night Scenes of Japan", together with Sapporo and Kitakyushu. This night view, valued at $10 million, is highly worth seeing.
Yutoku Inari-jinja Shrine - One of Japan's three largest Inari shrines.
Shiota-shuku - A town rich in history and culture, where the Kawako Shiota-juku and the Nagasaki Kaido Shiota-shuku intersect. It is a place where the legacy of the salt fields can still be felt.
Saga Ninja Village Hizenyumekaidou - A historical experiential theme park centered around a ninja from Saga Prefecture, Kyushu, Japan. It offers a variety of activities such as ninja training experiences for children, role-playing, and ninja performances.
Mifuneyama Rakuen covers an area of over 500,000 square meters and was built by the Edo period lord Nabeshima Shigeyoshi. Hundreds of thousands of flowers and trees are planted in the vast garden, with different scenery throughout the seasons.
West Kyushu Tour Length: Common Questions
Why choose the five-day version rather than a shorter visit?
Five days gives a workable balance for West Kyushu: you can include the Nanatsugama Caves, the Yobuko Morning Market and Hirado Castle without squeezing them together. A shorter visit would mean covering fewer places or moving more quickly, while this length keeps the private tour focused and comfortable for travellers with limited time.
Why not book the six-, seven- or eight-day tour instead?
The longer versions are suitable if you want to add more places across West Kyushu and move at a more relaxed pace. They include a wider range of stops than this five-day tour, so they suit travellers with more time. If your schedule is compact, the five-day version keeps the route manageable while still covering key attractions.
Who does this five-day private tour suit?
It suits first-time visitors, couples and families who want a private West Kyushu trip with a compact schedule. It also works for travellers who prefer to see key places such as Kujukushima Islands, Chiwata Station and Glover Garden without committing to a longer route. Groups wanting more places and a slower pace can consider the six-, seven- or eight-day versions.
