Five days in the Shirakawa-go area suits travellers who want a private, unhurried look at village life, water and mountain scenery without a tight schedule. The pace leaves room to walk the thatched lanes of Shirakawa-go, a UNESCO World Heritage site with over 100 Gassho-zukuri houses that is still a living village, and to slow down at Tsukechi Gorge, an ancient cedar forest with clear water sources. You can also spend time in Gero onsen or in Magomejuku, which preserves the appearance of an Edo period posttown. Our six-, seven- and eight-day versions add more places from the same region and give a more relaxed pace, which helps if you would rather not move on each morning or want to include stops such as Gujo Hachiman and Hida Furukawa.

Five days, or six to eight days — how do I choose?
Five days gives you time for Shirakawa-go, Tsukechi Gorge, Gero onsen and Magomejuku at an easy pace, travelling privately throughout. The six-, seven- and eight-day versions add more places in the same region and slow the rhythm further, so choose those if you want extra stops without moving on each morning.
Who does the five-day version suit?
It suits travellers who want a compact private trip: couples, small families, or anyone fitting a tour into a working week. There is room for village walks at Shirakawa-go, a cedar forest at Tsukechi Gorge, and an onsen stop at Gero onsen, without a demanding daily schedule or long transfers.
Will five days feel rushed?
No. Five days in the Shirakawa-go area leaves time to stay a while in each place rather than passing through. If you also want Nabana no Sato, Enakyo, Gujo Hachiman or Hida Furukawa, the six-, seven- and eight-day versions fit them in with a more relaxed pace.

48 hours. Hotel and flight rates move with availability; the rate at the time of confirmation applies.
Is a car and guide included?
A private car throughout. A guide can be arranged to suit your group.
