Germany Private Tour and Charter: Bavaria, the Rhine and Berlin
Germany's best roads are the ones between the famous places. The Romantic Road, the Black Forest's hairpins, the Rhine gorge with a castle every kilometre, the Bavarian Alps under Neuschwanstein. Trains move you between cities efficiently; a car is what turns the middle into the trip.
包車 — charter, car and driver
A charter covers the days that are awkward by rail: Munich to Neuschwanstein and back with stops, the Romantic Road from Würzburg to Rothenburg, the Rhine and Moselle valleys, and the Black Forest. It also removes the Autobahn problem — fast, unfamiliar and unforgiving after a long flight.
包團 — private tour, the route planned too
A private tour adds hotels in the old towns rather than the business districts, the castle tickets that sell out in summer, and the timing that keeps a ten-day Bavaria-and-Rhine route from becoming five days in transit.
Routes that work
- 7 days: Munich, Neuschwanstein, the Bavarian Alps, Salzburg day trip, out from Munich.
- 10 days: add the Romantic Road north to Rothenburg, then the Rhine valley.
- 10 days cities: Berlin, Dresden, Nuremberg and Munich by train, with a car for the countryside legs.
Getting around
Munich to Neuschwanstein is roughly two hours by road. Munich to Salzburg about an hour and a half. Würzburg to Rothenburg on the Romantic Road roughly an hour. Frankfurt to the Rhine gorge about an hour and a half. Berlin to Dresden about two hours by train.
When to come
May to September for the castles and the wine valleys; September and October for the Rhine harvest and the Black Forest colour. December for the Christmas markets, which are the one good reason to come in the cold.
Frequently asked questions
How do we see Neuschwanstein?
Book the timed entry in advance and arrive early; the ticket queue is the bottleneck. A car from Munich makes the day manageable and lets you add Linderhof or Oberammergau.
Is the Romantic Road worth it?
For the villages, yes — Rothenburg and Dinkelsbühl especially. It is slow by design, so it should be two days, not one.
Can we drive on the Autobahn?
Yes, with a driver who knows it. Our drivers handle the motorway legs so the first day of a long-haul trip is not spent learning German road rules.
Do we need a car in Berlin?
No. Berlin's transport is excellent; the car is for Bavaria and the river valleys.
Can we combine Germany with Austria and the Czech Republic?
Yes — Munich, Salzburg and Prague is a natural nine-day route, and the borders are open roads.
