Choosing Your South Xinjiang Tour Length

Nine days in South Xinjiang suits travellers who want the Pamir Plateau without rushing between stops. The itinerary gives you room to spend a full day wandering Kashgar Old Town, then continue at an easier rhythm through Bai Sha Lake, Muztagh Ata Glacier Park, Tahman Wetland, The Stone City Ruins and Golden Grass Beach. Compared with our 7-day version, this one adds more places and keeps driving days shorter, so afternoons stay open for photography or a slow walk. Compared with the 8-day version, it allows an extra night on the plateau and a more relaxed pace overall. It works well for couples, families with older children, and anyone who prefers two or three nights in the same place rather than a new stop each morning. A private guide and vehicle are with you throughout.

South Xinjiang Tour Length: Common Questions

Why choose nine days rather than the seven-day version?

The seven-day version covers the main stops but keeps travelling days tighter, with less time at each site. Nine days adds more places on the plateau and shortens individual driving legs, leaving space for a longer stay around Kashgar Old Town and unhurried walks at Bai Sha Lake and Tahman Wetland.

Would the eight-day tour be enough instead?

The eight-day tour sits between the two. It covers the plateau comfortably but with one fewer stop than the nine-day itinerary. If you want a gentler rhythm and time for photography at Golden Grass Beach and Muztagh Ata Glacier Park, the extra day is worth taking.

Who does the nine-day tour suit?

It suits travellers who dislike early starts and prefer two or three nights in one place. Couples, families with older children and photographers will find the pace comfortable. Guests with limited annual leave often choose seven or eight days instead, and we adjust the route to match.
