Choosing Your Yunnan Tour Length
Eight days in Yunnan gives a private tour a settled rhythm. It suits travellers who want to see Kunming's main sights without rushing between them, and who welcome a slower morning or an extra stop when something interests them. You can spend time in the Xishan Scenic Area above Dianchi Lake, walk the karst formations of the Stone Forest Scenic Area, and go underground at the Jiuxiang Scenic Region, with room left for Kunming Old Street and Guandu Ancient Town. Our five-, six- and seven-day versions cover fewer places at a quicker pace; the nine-, ten-, eleven- and twelve-day versions add more places and a more relaxed pace again. Eight days sits in the middle, with enough time for the caves, the lakeside hills and the old quarters.

Yunnan Tour Length: Common Questions
Why choose eight days rather than five or six?
The five- and six-day versions concentrate on fewer places and move faster between them. Eight days lets you include the Jiuxiang Scenic Region and the Stone Forest Scenic Area alongside Kunming's old quarters without long days of travelling. If you would rather add outlying places and keep a gentler pace, the nine- to twelve-day versions do that.
Who does the eight-day tour suit?
It suits travellers who want a private guide and a comfortable middle pace — enough time for Xishan Scenic Area, Guandu Ancient Town and the Yunnan Ethnic Village without filling every hour. Couples and families with older children often find this length works well. It is also a reasonable choice if you have just over a week available.
Would nine or ten days be better for us?
Only if you prefer fewer transfers and more time at each stop. The nine-, ten-, eleven- and twelve-day versions add more places and a more relaxed pace, which helps if you dislike early starts or want longer at the caves and markets. Eight days already covers Kunming's main sights comfortably.
