Choosing Your Jiangxi Tour Length
Eight days in Jiangxi suits travellers who would rather see the region without rushing. There is room around Mount Lu to walk the Five Old Peaks trails, watch the clouds shift over Poyang Lake, and still reach Sandie Spring, the three-tiered waterfall with a 155-metre drop. In Jingdezhen a full day is available for the ancient kilns and a pottery-making session, with an evening wander along Taoxichuan Creative Street. The 5-day and 6-day versions keep to fewer areas with a tighter rhythm; the 7-day sits closest to this one, while eight days adds more places and a more relaxed pace. Choose it if you prefer fewer early starts and time to revisit a place you liked.
Mount Lu, a mist-shrouded paradise, is famed for its peaks, waterfalls, and hot springs. With stunning scenery year-round—spring flowers, summer retreats, autumn foliage, and winter snow—it's a renowned summer resort and cultural mountain in China.
The Five Old Peaks, the soul of Mount Lu, resemble five elders sitting side by side. With rolling seas of clouds, it's a paradise for hikers and photographers, offering breathtaking views of Poyang Lake.
Sandie Spring, the most spectacular waterfall in Mount Lu, cascades down in three tiers with a total drop of 155 meters. Thunderous and misty, it's a summer retreat and a winter wonderland, hailed as the "No.1 Marvel of Mount Lu."
Jingdezhen, the millennium-old "Porcelain Capital," is famed for its blue-and-white ceramics. Explore ancient kilns, try pottery-making, and marvel at its "white as jade, bright as a mirror, thin as paper, and resonant as a chime" porcelain—a haven for culture and craft lovers.
Taoxichuan Creative Street, Jingdezhen's artistic hub, transforms old porcelain factories into a vibrant space. Blending red-brick charm with modern design, it hosts pottery studios, creative markets, and cafes, glowing with energy at night—a magnet for the young and trendy.
Yaoli Ancient Town, a hidden gem near Jingdezhen, nestles among green hills and babbling streams. Its Hui-style architecture and cobbled streets whisper tales of the porcelain trade—a serene escape from the modern world.
Wuyuan, hailed as China's most beautiful countryside, is famed for its rapeseed flower seas and Hui-style architecture. Golden springs and fiery autumn "sun-drying" scenes blend with ancient villages and terraces, creating a living ink painting.
Huangling Ancient Village, the gem of Wuyuan, is famed for its "sun-drying autumn" tradition. Terraced fields surround vibrant homes adorned with peppers and corn. Stroll stone paths and savor centuries-old Hui-style architecture and pastoral charm.
Likeng Ancient Village, a hidden water town in Wuyuan, blends Hui-style architecture with charming bridges and streams. Wander cobblestone lanes, admire Ming-Qing era houses, and savor local farm dishes—a timeless Jiangnan dream.
Wangxian Valley, a hidden utopia in Jiangxi, boasts deep gorges and cascading waterfalls. Cliffside wooden houses shrouded in mist create a fairy-tale scene, while night lights add magic—a perfect retreat to unwind.
Nanqing Garden, the essence of Mount Sanqingshan, blends surreal peaks and sea of clouds into a fairyland. Walk its sky-high trails to marvel at wonders like "Giant Python Peak" and "Goddess of the East"—nature’s masterpiece unveiled.
Longhu Mountain, a cradle of Taoism, is famed for its Danxia peaks and mysterious cliff tombs. Drift on Luxi River by bamboo raft to uncover ancient secrets—where "landscape paints Taoist harmony."
Tengwang Pavilion, one of the "Three Great Towers of Jiangnan," stands majestically by the Gan River. Ascend to witness "sunset clouds and lone ducks in flight," where a millennium of history and poetry unfolds.
Jiangxi Tour Length: Common Questions
Why not take the shorter 5-day or 6-day version?
The 5-day and 6-day tours keep to fewer areas, which means more travelling between sights and less time at each. Eight days lets you spread Mount Lu and Jingdezhen across the itinerary, so a rainy morning does not cost you a highlight, and you can return to Taoxichuan Creative Street in the evening.
How does this differ from the 7-day tour?
The 7-day tour already covers the main sights, but its rhythm is tighter. Eight days adds an extra day of space, brings in more places on the route, and slows the pace. That helps if you want longer at Sandie Spring or a second look at the kilns in Jingdezhen.
Who does this eight-day tour suit?
It suits travellers who dislike daily early starts and prefer to linger. It also works for photographers, since cloud and light at the Five Old Peaks take time to wait for. If your leave is limited, the 5-day or 6-day version is more practical; with flexibility, eight days is the calmer choice.
