Egypt is a river journey with monuments attached. Cairo for the pyramids, the Egyptian Museum and Islamic Cairo. South of Cairo, Luxor and Aswan sit on the Nile, and most of what visitors come to see stands along a 200-kilometre stretch of the river. The notable sites include the Valleys of the Kings and Queens, Karnak and Luxor temples, and Abu Simbel.
