Fanjingshan Dayin Hotel is a brand-new design hotel (opened 2026) in Taiping Town, Jiangkou County, at the foot of Guizhou's sacred Fanjingshan — the pick for travellers who want a UNESCO mountain by day and a quiet, high-design retreat by night. The one thing to know before booking: recent guests call the scenery, the rooms and the service "the ceiling" for hotels in China, but they are just as clear that the in-room fittings feel average, the soundproofing is poor, and the bathroom motion-sensor lights are a nightly annoyance.

What it is
Fanjingshan Dayin Hotel (梵淨山大隱) opened in 2026 in Taiping Town, Jiangkou County, Tongren, Guizhou — the Jiangkou side of Fanjingshan, the sacred peak that gives the hotel its name. The street address is No. 6 Ge Du Group, Taiping Town (貴州省銅仁市江口縣太平鎮給嘟組6號), and the setting is the point: low-slung buildings of timber, dark stone and glass folded into a forested valley, with warm interiors glowing out onto decks and lawns as the light goes.
The hotel works as a base for the mountain and as a destination in its own itself. Within an easy drive are several of the area's smaller sights: Zhaisha Dong Village (寨沙侗寨) about 4.1 km away, the Yamu Valley scenic area (亞木溝) about 5.7 km, and Yunshe (雲舍) about 6.1 km. In other words, you can spend one day climbing towards the golden summits and the next drifting between villages, forest paths and the pool.

The rooms
Two king-room types carry the hotel's signature names: 境·聽松大床房 ("Listening to the Pines") and 境·鳴澗大床房 ("Singing Stream"). Both are timber-lined and deliberately low-key — platform beds, slatted screens, soft indirect lighting — and the best rooms place a wooden soaking tub directly in front of a floor-to-ceiling window, so the forest is the first and last thing you see each day. Many rooms open onto private balconies or decks with loungers and a view down the valley.
Honest caveats, because they come up repeatedly in guest feedback: the in-room fittings and facilities are described as merely average for a hotel at this level of design, and soundproofing between rooms is weak — light sleepers should pack earplugs or ask for a quieter room. The bathroom motion-sensor lighting also draws complaints: it is awkward at night, when you want a dim, reliable light rather than a sensor deciding for you. None of this ruins a stay, but it is the gap between "ceiling-level views and service" and a genuinely flawless product.

The infinity pool
The outdoor infinity pool is the hotel's headline facility and it is open year-round, morning and evening: 09:00–11:00 and 14:00–21:30, with a midday break. It hangs over the valley with the forested hills rolling away behind the waterline, which makes it as much a viewing deck as a swimming pool — guests tend to arrive early for the light and stay into the evening, when the uplit trees and the dark ridgeline do the rest. If a pool swim is central to your stay, plan around the split opening hours rather than assuming midday access.

Dining
Two restaurants cover the day. 隱梵 (Yinfan) is the Western kitchen — breakfast, afternoon tea and dinner — while 隱山 (Yinshan) is the Chinese restaurant, cooking Cantonese alongside local Guizhou flavours, dinner service only. Breakfast is served as a set menu rather than a buffet, so do not expect a sprawling morning spread; expect a composed meal instead. There is also a spa (charged separately), and a lobby bar and lounge where the day can quietly unspool between excursions.
One practical note for food-led travellers: with two kitchens and a set-menu breakfast, the hotel is designed for people who are here to eat well but simply, not for guests who want a different restaurant every night. The nearest cluster of local eateries and village life is a short drive away in Taiping Town and around Zhaisha Dong Village.

Fanjingshan itself
The mountain is the reason most guests come. Fanjingshan (梵淨山, "Brahma's Pure Land") is the highest peak of the Wuling Mountains at 2570 metres, and it was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2018 under criterion (x) for its biodiversity — the Guizhou golden monkey and the Fanjingshan fir exist nowhere else, and the mountain holds the largest contiguous subtropical primeval beech forest in the region. It is also one of Chinese Buddhism's sacred mountains, held to be the bodhimaṇḍa (seat of awakening) of Maitreya Buddha.
The landmarks are unforgettable: Red Cloud Golden Summit (紅雲金頂), a 2336-metre rock spire split by a narrow gorge and crowned with two small temples; Old Golden Summit at about 2493 metres; and the Mushroom Rock (蘑菇石), a balanced, wind-carved boulder that has become the mountain's signature photograph. Most visitors approach via the east gate in Jiangkou County — the same side as the hotel — and go up by cable car before climbing the final stone steps on foot. Summit weather is changeable and the steps are steep; start early, carry layers, and treat the climb as a full day.

Getting there
The nearest airport is Tongren Fenghuang Airport (銅仁鳳凰機場), about 52.7 km away — roughly an hour and a half by road, depending on traffic and weather. The hotel runs airport and railway-station pick-up and drop-off services, but they must be reserved in advance, so arrange your transfer when you confirm the room rather than on arrival. Self-drivers follow the mountain roads into Taiping Town; in winter, check conditions before setting out.
Who it suits
This is a staycation hotel as much as a sightseeing base — guests repeatedly describe it as one of the finest hotel experiences in China for scenery, rooms and service, and it suits couples, design lovers, photographers and anyone who wants to slow down between mountain days. It is a strong fit for a two- or three-night pause built around one big day on Fanjingshan. It is less suitable for very light sleepers (the soundproofing), for anyone who needs a lively dining scene on the doorstep, or for travellers who want to be inside the national park itself — the hotel is near, not on, the mountain.
